Death Valley

Sharing some of the pictures of Aspen and Canyon in Death Valley. They went to the dunes and it was a long way up!

Keep going guys.

They made it to the top and were way excited. When they came home, there was sand in every pocket they owned.

Death Valley is 178 feet below sea level, good thing it was April. I think Willie said it only got up to 80 degrees while they were there. It gets up to 125 degrees in the summer, yuck!

They stopped at this old ghost town and saw a lot of cool stuff. Then they realized that people still live there. Population of 27 or something like that.

Lots of the houses had old stuff hanging on them, like this old bike.

It was a fun trip but I'm still glad I was home safe in my house with the snow, (ok well maybe not so happy about the snow).

Quote for the day!

If fear's what makes us decide our future journey, then I'm not along for the ride!

Fear always seems to hold us back from what we really need and want. Why is that?

Enjoying spring break

Sacoya, Ridge and I have been home enjoying spring break. WIllie, Aspen and Canyon went off to Death Valley. It would have been nice to all go together, but I don't do places that:
#1 start with death
# 2 Invlove only a tent.
#3 A tree, some toilet paper, and you know what.
Some people may think that I'm wimpy or spoiled, but I just say I'm smart.

Love that the sun has been out all day, it probably won't last, but it lifted my spirits today! Ridge and I ran around in the yard and rode his bike. Now we just need some grass.

Made a really fun Necklace for my Etsy store. I've added a few things this week, but this one by far will be the hardest to part with so far.

Making Jewelry

So I went to the Salt Lake Gem faire a couple of weeks ago. I was in heaven, wish I could have stayed all day. Making jewelry has quickly gotten out of hand! So I had to open one of these.

The not so best mailbox on the block

This is our mailbox,(well it's not our actual mailbox, but you get the drift) and it's a great one at that. You don't have to worry about anyone getting into it, or getting to full if you skip getting the mail for a day or two. In fact, you can go on vacation and no one has to pick up the mail for you. I'm really happy with it. It only has one draw back. IT REQUIRES A KEY!

This is what happens when you've lost both keys, and you try to use your arm to get the mail out of the secured box. I don't know if I will try it again, although I was able to get our mail out! So i guess it's not as secure as I thought, hmm.

Rescue your stainless steel

This is a little gem I thought I would share with any of you who have stainless steel appliances. I have bought several products over the last few months and pretty much, they all suck. That is until I found this. It doesn't clean, but it polishes like nothing else. Kinda like washing your car. It's the finishing coat. Go buy it, you'll be happy.

Photo of the Week!

Or maybe the Year! This is such a classic photo, I had to share. Thanks to my sister-in-law Jodie for letting me steal it from her. These are her two children, and I probably don't have to tell you what they were doing! I think the walls and floor faired better than they did. I'm glad I don't have the only child who writes on everything.

Random Picture Day

This chair goes in my office, it used to have a cream top. I bought it at Target about two years ago with the intention of recovering it. It didn't take my that long did it?

This picture should get me the "BAD MOM AWARD" I let the water get so high, it almost covered him. Although I must say, he didn't seem to mind!

This old bear chair, I said I wouldn't bring you to my new house, but after 5 months without you, I couldn't "Bear" it any longer. You've been with me since the beginning. Maybe I could get you a slipcover.

This was the scene in front of my house a few days ago. Cows on the run. Good thing it wasn't the whole herd of 200. Only a few rebels on the run.

Luckily they picked the empty house next door to damage and leave there "mess" if you know what I mean.

Except this gal, she came after me for a second. Scared the heck out of me. Guess she didn't want her picture taken.

Post card reminder in my car that should have been mailed 8 days ago. Yes, Mara, I am a loser, but it started out as a good intention. Tell Kalli I'm sorry.

Parting shot, Kids with Grandpa T, taking there Sunday lawn mower ride!

Our old house

I don't really like to call this my old house. It doesn't look old or feel old. But it is where we used to live. Maybe I should call it my favorite house, ya that makes me feel better. I have so many wonderful memories there. Anyways the reason for this post is because a few of you have asked if we sold it, moved back in, etc..., and no to all of those, we just recently rented it to a nice family. So if you see lights on, kids in the yard, and a car in the driveway, no it's not us (don't cry!) it's our renters. Be nice to them, take them cookies, and most of all don't try to scare them away. We need them to pay the rent!

Funny for the day!

I came across this cute line of baby clothes on Etsy the other day, and I just had to share:

This is my favorite:

O how true this one is:

Another favorite:

Sorry guys, for babies only:

I fully deny this one:

And last but not least, don't we all have at least one baby as a result of this:

I forgot to copy the actual site link, but if you want one of these, I'm sure you could go to Etsy and type in any of the shirt names and find them, I might have to order a couple just to have on hand!!

Have a great day.

I've been tagged

I never play along with tags, usually because they are about me and I never seem to want to take the time. I should, after all this is my blog. So here we go. Kellie, this is for you. Sixth photo in my sixth file. My photos are in events, so this is my sixth photo in my sixth event:

Now notice I have marked my brother Doug. Well he is moms favorite and How do I know this: Last summer my mom wanted to get a family photo. My brother Doug was only in town for a short time and so we tried to plan a day when everyone could be there. Turns out it wasn't meant to be, but my mom still insisted that we take the photo. Mind you several of her other children were missing, but not Doug, he was there. And that is all that really mattered any way right? Sorry Chris and Zach and Tanner and Willie and Dan, and Lindsay, and Kaiden, and Lucas!!!! maybe you can be in our family next time. (Love ya mom)

Look who's 10

Happy Birthday to our sweet and spicy Aspen! My girls are growing up toooooo fast. We are so happy to have Aspen in our family. She is sugar because she always shows concern for people and is always super kind to her friends and makes them feel happy. She is spice because she will let you know if she is un-happy! No further explanation needed. She is so creative always making something for somebody. We love you!!!
